YOUR PRESENCE IS YOUR VALUE
I remember what it was like when I didn’t know who I was. I remember all the pressure I felt when I thought I had to become somebody. I remember believing that unless I had something to offer, I was a burden. I remember how desperate, and hopeless, and depressed I was then.
I thought that if I only knew enough then I would feel worthy. That only made me into a know-it-all. I thought if I could do enough then I would be enough. That only made me become obsessive compulsive. I thought that if I could be happy then people would like me better. That only made me fake and insincere.
I see now how my beliefs were creating my reality. As long as I believed I was a burden I was showing up as one. As long as I believed I was unworthy I acted that way. As long as I believed I didn’t have anything to offer I was unable to give of myself. As long as I was desperate, hopeless and depressed I surrounded myself with people that felt the same way.
I’m here to tell you that you are what’s valuable. Your presence is the gift that you have to offer. Your value is inherent to who you are. Your highest calling is to learn to actually be yourself. Your job on this planet is to be loving and powerful and beautiful.
While it’s important to love yourself, it’s just as important to allow yourself to be loved. Part of loving yourself fully is allowing yourself to be loved. Instead of trying to love yourself, focus on learning to be present. In the present, loving and being loved comes naturally.
